This calculator gives you a practical estimate of your statutory paid vacation entitlement in Germany. It’s designed for expats and newcomers who want to sanity-check their contract and understand the basics.
In Germany, paid leave is usually defined in days (not hours). The statutory minimum is derived from federal law and scales with your working days per week. If you work fewer days (part-time), your minimum entitlement is reduced proportionally.
If you enter a contractual annual leave value, the tool will show a large red warning only when your contract is below the statutory minimum for your working pattern. For minors, a higher minimum may apply depending on age.
